Sense operates a one-time hardware purchase model with no recurring subscription fees. The Sense Monitor is a physical device installed in the home electrical panel that connects to the Sense cloud platform. All app features, device detection improvements, firmware updates, and API access are included with the hardware purchase. A utility-partnership track provides access through smart meter installations at no cost to the homeowner, funded through state energy efficiency incentive programs.

One-time hardware purchase providing lifetime access to the Sense app, real-time energy monitoring, device detection via machine learning, solar production tracking, usage history, custom alerts, and API access. No monthly fees or subscriptions required. Includes ongoing firmware updates and device detection model improvements.

Sense Home Energy Monitor with Solar

One-time hardware purchase for homes with solar installations, including two current transformers for both grid consumption and solar production monitoring. All features of the standard monitor plus dedicated solar production tracking, grid export measurements, and net energy metering data. No monthly fees or subscriptions.

Utility Smart Meter Integration

Free access to Sense energy intelligence through a Sense-enabled smart meter installed by an eligible utility partner. Homeowners in service territories where Sense has partnered with the utility receive app access and energy insights at no charge. Funded through state energy efficiency incentive programs paid to Sense when users reduce or shift energy consumption.
