Plans

Open Source / Self-Hosted self-hosted

The Monero daemon (monerod) and wallet RPC (monero-wallet-rpc) are free, open-source software released under the BSD 3-Clause license. Anyone can run the full node and wallet RPC locally or on their own infrastructure at no cost.

Third-Party Node / Remote Node remote-node

Users who do not wish to run their own full node can connect to community-operated remote nodes or commercial node providers. This allows wallet-only setups without the resource cost of running monerod.

Mining (Solo) mining

Any holder of monerod can configure their node to perform solo CPU mining using the RandomX proof-of-work algorithm. Mining rewards are proportional to hash rate contributed to finding blocks.

Mining (P2Pool) mining

P2Pool is a decentralized mining pool protocol supported natively by Monero. Miners contribute hash rate to a sidechain and receive proportional payouts without a centralized pool operator.
