Gp Connect Plans
GP Connect is a publicly funded NHS England programme. There is no direct commercial pricing for API access. Access is governed by clinical safety requirements, information governance agreements, and NHS England onboarding approval. Organisations must hold a valid use case approved by NHS England and meet DCB0129/DCB0160 clinical safety standards before going live in production. The sandbox environment is open access with no credentials required. Integration and production environments require Spine Security Proxy (SSP) or NHS login credentials.

Plans
Open-access sandbox environment available to all developers without credentials. Stateless; does not store data. Covers a limited set of test scenarios. No onboarding or clinical safety approval required.
Stateful integration test environment requiring NHS England onboarding approval. Used for formal conformance testing before production access. Requires HSCN connectivity for clinical APIs and NHS login for patient- facing APIs.
Production access at no direct cost to the consuming organisation. NHS England funds the GP Connect infrastructure as part of the national interoperability programme. Requires approved use case, clinical safety officer, IG compliance, and a Supplier Conformance Assessment List (SCAL) technical conformance certificate. Patient-facing APIs currently limited to New Market Entrant GP system suppliers and the NHS App.
